Western R&B Angus - Cattle for a thriving industry
Beef genetics sourced throughout the world to optimise the production, efficiency and quality for the Australian beef industry
“We strive to breed cattle that perform and excel in their natural environments, returning maximum profit for us, our clients, and industry whilst delivering superior, highly nutritious protein to the world.”
Western R.B. Angus
Welcome to Western R.B. Angus and thanks for taking the time to visit and discover our family beef pedigree operation located in Southern, Western Australia.
Originally established under “Western Reds Red Angus” in 2004, we have now grown to include both Red and Black Angus genetics and a fresh new revamp under; “Western R.B. Angus” with “R’ representing Red coated and ‘B’ representing Black coated angus.
Cattle are HBR registered with Angus Australia and Red Angus Society of Australia, DNA verified, genomic tested for performance, genetic diseases and BVDV tested negative.
We are passionate about cattle
For us selecting genetics, and a particular style of animal, maximising pasture utilisation whilst preserving our farmland, working alongside cattle with our family, and collaborating with our clients, and providing a high quality, healthy protein food source to the world brings us so much joy and a sense of achievement.
“I have a huge passion for breeding cattle with superior genetics that perform all the way along the supply chain. Being in the driver seat, to select the best genetics and support the expression of these genetics through management of the environment in particular soil, pasture and fodder supplementary feed is a big focus. To gain a better understanding of the importance of soil health in regard to the humus and soil microbes to pasture and management of it, has led to the adoption of rotational grazing with benefits in both pasture composition and quality and the flow on effect on the cattle, regarding fertility, development of the foetus and expression of the genotype in the cattle has been huge and for Victoria it’s just the start.”

From the varied industry experience (cow/calf background and finishing operations), Victoria gained a Bachelor of Animal Science degree with first class Honours. During Victoria’s younger years, one breed in particular, the Angus breed, proved their worth every time with exceptional maternal traits, docility, finish ability and meat quality in their own merits and in crossbreeding. Matched with their ability to flourish under wide climatic zones, is the motivation, why we choose to breed and registered our pedigree Red and Black Angus herd, having absolute full confidence in.
We don’t want to just breed for ourselves but for the entire industry, through developing relationships and working together and most importantly ensuring consumers rate our beef protein source as one of the highest and most consistent time and time again.
Therefore, a lot of time is spent communicating and researching red and black angus genetics all around the world to keep furthering the breed and industry forward and meet the stud objectives with our core focus of structural perfection, phenotypically desired, highly fertile, docile, feed efficient, performance driven cattle for industry improvement of - productivity, efficiency, profitability, and high-end quality product.
“For me, my greatest joy is when I am out in the paddock walking amongst the cattle, talking with them and them settled and enjoying my company back – often they will come stand right close to me just standing their chewing their cud – it’s just magical and rewarding.”

Victoria would like to pass on, especially to the youth within the industry, her philosophy she tries to live by and what she feels helps her to achieve the direction, passion and success in life – “If you really want something you have to be prepared to work for it, be prepared to keep learning and ask questions, stay focused, believe in yourself and be comfortable in taking risks. Be open minded, grateful, say you can do it to yourself, and you will, look long but play short, and keep taking a step no matter how small and be patient.”
I look forward to working with fellow breeders to continue the enhancement of this great breed.
Please feel free to contact us to find out more about our operation or to come on farm for a tour.
Best wishes
